A Journey On Knowledge... Or the Lack of It

There is nothing that I know of certainly, except perhaps that I am conscious, and this even, I got from Descartes and not derived from my own thinking. But that even, is limited. Yes, I am a conscious being, a thinker. I do not know though, for certain, if I even truly have a physical body, and so I proclaim that there are many things I do not know.

Burn Out

Let's keep this short.

There is no such thing as people burning out. There is such a thing as people realizing that they are not passionate about what they're doing.

They Just Keep Falling

What things keep on falling?

Leaves. Leaves just fall off from trees sometimes. They run dry, they lose their hold. They fall, along with their stem. Leaves fall.

Stars. We call them falling stars, but in truth they are meteors falling from the sky. Mostly a symbol of hope; it prides itself of granting the wishes of men.

Tears. They fall from the eyes. Sometimes because of joy; mostly because of pain, of heartache. Just as the water falls from the falls (yes, waterfalls).

People. People fall in love they say. Sometimes the purest of hearts are also deceived; they fall victims to the mischievous many. However smart, however kind... people just happen to fall.

Some things just happen to keep on falling.

Confusion at its Finest

How can you sort things
When you are not even sure of yourself?
When what you like and you don’t
When what you want and you hate
Is not even clear to you?

How can pain exists
When you tried so hard to guard yourself?
When you have built a barricade
When you have covered yourself
So hurt won’t pain the slightest of you?

How can things be so unclear
When they are as simple as can be?
When the things that are easy to understand
When the things that are easily afront
Are hard for you to take?

How can one’s heart be discerned
When one’s heart is unsure?
When a heart has been covered, barricaded
When it has been hurt and has grown weary
Is it even possible to call it a heart?

Misunderstandings of the Different Kind

I don't want to mistake kindness for affection. It caused a few handful of heartaches in this world.

I would not want to mistake kindness for affection, or for infatuation or for that-thing-you-are-thinking-right-now. Sometimes people are just overly kind or courteous that they do things that would make you think they like you. Perhaps they don't mean it. Perhaps they do.

But because of this I now don't know if they're being kind because there's more to their kindness.

I better stop thinking. I shouldn't be misinterpreting things.

Grant Me

Lord, grant me a heart that is full of courage, unmoved by the dictates of the evil which tricks to be truth.

Grant me discernment, that I may be able to decipher the right and just.

Grant me humility, that I may listen before I speak.

Grant me understanding, that I may not be self-centered.

Grant me peace and tranquility, that I may meet every situation with calmness.

Grant me your love, that I may not want and not seek.

And grant me with your grace, that I may live the life You plan for me.

Amor Diminutivo

Drown me in the sound of your voice
Of your subtle mumbling
And wrap me in your arms of warmth and love.

Sala sa Lamig, Sala sa Init

Ayaw kong maging tapunan.

Basta totoo nga ata talagang Things Fall Apart.

PS Di ko natapos basahin 'yung libro.

Love and Hate

I have this love and hate relationship... with my studies.

I love it, and I miss it when I don't do it ('study'), but when it's there, flashing its stressful and not-so-inviting nature, I'd need a lot of motivation from myself to keep on pushing and find a way to pass through those rainy days.

Gah, why can something you love be so loathing at the same time?

I'm definitely fattening up this Christmas break. Why do mothers cook so well?
Spent most, if not all, of my time at home.

How about you? :)

My Mind is Full of Whatnots

My mind is a catastrophe. It deals with different ideas - from petty things such as a recipe of Pinakbet (yum!) to some more bizarre thinking like having a theory relating metabolism and thought (which I perceive, has energy). But I like it, I like it when my brain has loads of things to process. My predicament is quite pitiful, though. I find it hard to process my thoughts, to filter them so that they make sense.

This blog entry alone is an evidence of my mind of whatnots. It took me some time to decide what to write. I just felt writing, without even knowing what to blabber about.

So much for my utter randomness.

Because Writing is Beyond Impression and Expression

They say that writers write not to impress, but to express.
I say that it was an insufficient statement.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I.
I was brought up to the idea of competition years ago. Being in the cream section of my school before, clamoring over being the best was ordinary. Personally, I did not like the idea of achieving because I needed to. But what could I do? It was an epidemia, an intravenous fluid slowly entering my veins.
I give a great deal in whatever I did, especially if I wanted to be the best in the field that I have chosen. But now that my environment is anew, different perspectives come into view. I have lost drive of pushing hard because I wanted to be the top. Now, I put a lot of effort to things because I see the merriment in the end.
The same thing goes for writing.
Writers are writers, and they do not write for competition.
There is no better writer.
You cannot compare one scribe from another, because whatever twists the world does, there will never be a means of measuring the talent in writing. Grammar and creativity aside, the true essence of writing is the heart of the piece, the ideals that make a writer do a composition.
II.
I think that writers write not only to unconsciously impress people and express their inner thoughts, but most importantly, to influence. As I have said in my first post, writing is such a powerful tool, it can change history in just one snap.
For all those who are given the talent in writing, or think that thru sharpening their skill it may be enhanced, take care of that prowess. Write not only for yourself, but also for the goodwill of others. Bring happiness when people are woebegone, hope when people are down, and drive when they lack the initiative to act. Defy mediocrity; be a medium of change.
I say that writers write not only to impress, but to express... and beyond.
